Break Time

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I've been working away finishing up orders and getting the last ones packaged up. My parents also got here over the weekend so I've gotten to spend some time with them.

My poor little blog has been rather neglected the last month and I have so many things I want to share with you all, but I'm afraid it will have to wait until after the holidays. I've decided to take a little bloggy break until after Christmas.

I still have a few things that need finished up, lots of family activities planned and Jesse and I will be taking a little vacation, so I thought it was Break Time.

Wishing all my readers a very Merry Christmas! See you soon!

Friday Favorites - Christmas Elves

This has been my busiest holiday season ever...and I couldn't be happier! I've already started thinking ahead to next year about ways to better prepare and be less stressed (if that's possible). My number one plan...find an elf :)
Well, even if I don't get a real elf next year, these great Etsy finds might just do the trick :)

This is one of Jesse's favorite movies! Love this sign :)

Recent Albums

I've been working like crazy lately on lots of custom orders. One item I've been working extra hard on is Name Albums. Some of you might remember that I helped a friend with a fundraiser for her son's karate school and made Karate Name Albums for them to sell. They took orders and I have 14 albums to make for them!

I've also been working on Etsy orders as well. I have some really cute Grandkids albums to show after the holidays. But today I wanted to show you a couple I shipped out last week. This Family Album is great! I never would have used these colors together, but now that I have, I love them! I'll definitely be using them again!

And this little boy album is just too fun! I was told Hunter's room was decorated in Pottery Barn plaids, so I made the album to match. I love the cars and airplanes matched with the plaids.

I have several more albums in the works right now and I'll be sure to take photos of them when they're done :)

Friday Features - Mustache Mania

I have to admit, when the mustache craze first started, I really didn't get it. I didn't see why they were so popular and why they were popping up everywhere. But the more I saw them, the more I loved them! They can be cute or manly and just plain old FUN! I now have to admit that I've joined the mustache mania and added started creating with them myself!

I just listed these Mustache Cuff Links in my shop this week.
And after the new year, I'll have a necklace a couple different pair of earrings as well!

So today's features are all about the 'stache :)

Guitar Ornaments

My favorite thing to laser this time of year are ornaments! I love all the different styles I can make and options I can offer. And I have so many more ideas for next year! And you all know how much I love custom orders as well!

I was recently sent this photo and asked to make a guitar ornament to resemble it.

Here is the finished product. I'm pretty proud of myself with this one :) It really looks like the original photo! Once I found the shape I wanted to use, I reworked some of the details to make it more like the photo. Then added the wording...and viola!

And now my wheels are turning thinking of other cool shapes I could offer! But those will have to wait until next year...because Christmas is just around the corner!

Friday Features - The Countdown Begins

The countdown to Christmas officially begins tomorrow! How did December creep up on us so fast! I only have 18 days left til my last shipping day in my shop! That's less than 3 weeks to get everything done and in the mail...holy cow!

To help us count down, I've found some adorable advent calendars on Etsy!

This first on isn't technically an advent calendar, but it reminded me of a friend, so I had to post it :)

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

I've cut back on getting new items listed in my shop while I focus on custom orders for Christmas. But I couldn't help but take time to get this sign listed last night :)

This Believe Sign was inspired by my mom. She loves this word on Christmas decor, so I made this with her in mind.
I actually made two, but the first one sold at a show before I could get it listed...woohoo! It was maroon and silver.

Both color combos look awesome together and the gold and silver paint is metallic, so it really shimmers :)

How are you decorating for the holidays?

Thanksgiving Travels

For the Thanksgiving holiday, Jesse and I traveled to Missouri to see my parents. It was so great to get away for a few days! Here are a few photos from our trip...

This is a bridge at Kansas City that I always think is so cool and I remembered to get a picture this time. I've always wondered if the cables actually serve a purpose or if they're simply decoration.

We got put to work the first day we were down there, but that was okay with us. (good workout!) We helped my parents blow the leaves out of their yard and into piles. Boy do they have leaves!!! The front yard was a piece of cake, but the back yard was completely full! After we blew the leaves as far as we could, my dad had the brilliant idea to rig up a plow on his Ranger to push the leaves! See where I get my creativity from :)

After a hard day of work, we were rewarded with a yummy Thanksgiving dinner. My mom went all out with homemade everything! Her stuffing was awesome and the chocolate pecan pie was delicious!

On Friday we did a little shopping, but no crazy 4 am deals. We just ran errands and had a nice lunch. On our way home we stopped at one of the local wineries and took a tour and did some tasting. They had a laser engraving area set up in their winery! I got to talk with the guy running it for quite a while and thought it was so cool they had someone right there engraving orders!

The best part was waking up each morning to this beautiful view!

It was great to see my parents over this extended weekend and you can guarantee we'll be back for a visit real soon :)
